Would you read Star Magazine?

I was recently looking at a Star magazine. One thing that I discovered is that the writers who create that magazine uses the perfect rhetoric to grab people's attention. Yes, its true that most of the stuff in the magazine is false and not true, but the magazine can still draw you in. One thing that Magazines like Star ad Enquirer are good at is taking pictures and making up a story to go along with that picture. If they take a picture of Britney Spears crying, they can make anything up from she got in a fight with her mom to she almost died in a car crash. One reason why we are so drawn into the magazine sometimes is because they use pictures. You can never be too sure of what people say these days, but one thing that is hard to argue is a physical image of what happened. I believe that sight is one of the most powerful things that are the hardest to argue because it has a lot of logic behind it. They use that to their advantage. The only problem is, is that they back the pictures up with false facts. You are soon aware of this when you begin reading all the other magazines with similar stories to each other.

I think that if you think of just sight and that you don't add any written words to the photo, you can gain or lose a lot of ethos with an audience. If someone who didn't know Britney Spears looked at the picture, they might feel sorry for her. However, with the background information that we bring with us when we view the picture, we obviously know not to pity her too much.
